SpringTern was founded in early 2012 by Ben Wise and Ron Lam.

The idea behind SpringTern came from the mutual experience of Ben and Ron who had trouble breaking into the professional world. As new graduates from the Ivey business program at the University of Western Ontario, both faced the Catch-22 that “You can’t get a job without experience and you can’t get experience without a job.” Eventually they both landed jobs with big firms, but that experience left them both with a deep understanding of the challenges faced by students and recent graduates.

Ben and Ron founded SpringTern with the vision of helping students get the experience they need to get the jobs that they want by providing them with opportunities to complete short-term work projects for companies of all shapes and sizes.

Since then, Ben has gone on to complete his MBA, spend a few years in management consulting and is currently working at Google. Ron completed his CA designation and is currently working as the financial controller for a major international bank.
